When Gayle and I married (48+years ago), it was not on our dance card to struggle against fascism, extreme hatred, anti-DEI, anti-intellectualism, extreme racism verging on hysteria ... in our retirement years. As we watch our carefully planed retirement fade, and attacks on SS, and on Democracy deepen, I wanted to find a happy place this morning. So much of our lives together is stored on film and print that have not been digitized that I settled for a trip to Hawaii' in 2001.
This at Waipi'o Valley and beach with our daughter to have fun and to explore the magnificent normal fault scarps - a happy memory.

One of the things I love about my locals is the bartenders pick the music. Depending who's behind the bar it will be anything from old rock to punk, classic hip hop to something modern. Variety, spice of life and all that.
