Folding into Friday like it's already the weekend. Always amazed by the wonders and incredible energy carried out by geological forces. Hope the warmer days bring more time to find peace in nature. Every day can be a blessing outside, set an intention to find it.
Last Light Lake Tahoe
It's pretty amazing how fast the sun drops in the sky when your in the mountains. One minute I was relaxing with my wife, we were commenting on a wedding that was taking place down the beach away. By the time I noticed that the sun was setting I had to rush to get my gear together and set up on this dock in South Lake.

June 3, 1983: I slept the sleep of the dead last night, so exhausted I did not wake even for a moment until 6:30 in the morning.
Dził Bizhiʼ Ádiní (mountain whose name is missing). In 1872 the whites named it Henry Mtns (Utah). It was the last major range in the lower 48 to be named. Highest point is Mt. Ellen 3,512m (11,522ft). (Note: There's a couple of small ranges in Nevada that have not been named. Nevada has the most ranges of any state.) I've past by Dził Bizhiʼ Ádiní many times. I need to stop sometime. Reading Wikipedia, I see there's bison there!
The walk up to Aremd, Morocco, early in the morning.
Continuing to share favourite images from my 30+ year photographic career, this is my partner near the Brèche de Roland in the Pyrénées, having just crossed to the Spanish side.

Weather window today in advance of next winter system. Already starting to snow in town. Nice this morning hiking on Beartooth Highway from the closure, up to 2nd switchback. 2300-2500m then back. 1C or so, just lite W wind. Still good snowpack on the sides, but the road is not skiable, even the margins. Spring plowing up to the 3335m Beartooth Pass has begun, opening should be 23MAY . We never miss that. #hiking #climate #dogs #mountains #montana #gye
Images from yesterday's ascent of La Concha 1215m. We got lucky with the weather in that we had no precipitation and superb views.
Not an easy hike. Involves 13km & 800m of ascent & descent from Refugio de Juanar. Track is well marked but there are a couple of sections, partly protected by chains, where head for heights is useful. Would be quite slippery in wet weather. Don't let this put you off though, it's a marvelous walk to a fine viewpoint.

May 16, 1983: The rain continued to slacken, finally tapering off by mid-morning. We had a late start to Fontana, but it was only a 7-mile hike. The sun began to break out as we climbed the Yellow Creek Range. The trail was not overly difficult, and the afternoon turned out to be a pleasant one. At one point along the ridge crest, I got a great picture of Fontana Dam
