Un rare feuillet de la Bible de Gutenberg, considéré comme l’un des tout premiers livres imprimés à l’aide de caractères mobiles en Europe, a été découvert dans un grenier à Bromsgrove, au Royaume-Uni. Cette précieuse relique, datée d’environ 1455, sera proposée aux enchères ce 25 mars par la maison Chorley’s Auctioneers. Son prix est estimé entre 20.000 et 30.000 £ (entre 24.000 et 36.000 €)

Traditionally the date of publication of the Gutenberg Bible, the first Western book printed with movable type.
The Gutenberg Bible is an edition of the Latin Vulgate printed in the 1450s by Johannes Gutenberg in Mainz (Holy Roman Empire), in present-day Germany.
This is one of 4 allegorical figures at the base of the Johannes Gutenberg Memorial at Frankfurt's Roßmarkt. They represent the main reasons for the invention of the printing press: theology (which is the statue in the photo), poetry, natural sciences, and industry. And I think they contrast so well with he shiny facades of the modern office buildings in the background.

@jeffjarvis I am finally reading The Gutenberg Parenthesis. I'm about halfway through it and enjoying it so far.
This book has the most footnotes and qoutes of any book I have ever read. It is almost as if I am viewing a conversation with you and the footnoted individuals.

This upcoming weekend, I may schedule moving my books off of Amazon entirely.
I will look into what I have to change to put them on #Gutenberg and @internetarchive.
No one knows they exist, and I want people to be able to read them.
No point in having them locked in the bottom of the Amazon vault, where even a direct link doesn't always help people find them.
Search by book or author name doesn't bring up anything by me. And hasn't for the entire decade I have had books on Amazon.
