A quick trip out tonight to watch the postponed New Year's Eve fireworks at Sandown.
At least the weather behaved this time

Sunset, The Needles, Isle of Wight, c.1940s - Dean Postcard
I love visiting this calm oasis in the middle of a park in Shanklin. Red squirrels are in abundance here and the wildlife friendly plants around the crazy golf course are so pretty. We've restocked our Craft Cabin (definitely NOT a shed) for the summer season ahead.
Half the menu at the cafe is vegan, so I'm in heaven #RylstoneGardens #IsleofWight
Summer season is officially here as we've reinstated the IOW shaped fridge magnets! #IsleofWight #photography #SmallBusiness
The crescent moon over the West Wight last night.
Earthshine gave the appearance of the moon being full. Too dark for a decent landscape shot, but it was too good to miss!

Another slower running month, but I could still give the proverbial butcher’s dog a run for its money!
March has been about taking it easy on my hamstring. I’ve held back from all speedwork, which has meant a drop in overall pace — and in turn, my VO₂ max has slipped from a high of 50 in December to 44.8. That’s to be expected, though.
This afternoon's wander around St Lawrence and the Undercliff was charming, despite the dank weather. It always feels like going back in time around here, even by Isle of Wight standards!
St Lawrence Old Church is incredibly atmospheric and not a place I visit very often.

@ChrisMayLA6 @Christo_459 Even here on the #isleofwight people seem to drive 1/2 a mile to the shops or pub. You would think people would realise a short walk or bike ride is better.
Obviously excepting those who can't walk or are carrying loads etc etc (for the flamers who can't see a bigger picture)
One of our cargo bikes can replace up to 10 van trips* – cutting emissions, reducing congestion, and making island streets safer... Are you ready to make the switch to ultra low emissions deliveries for your business? Give us a call when you are. #CargoBike #IsleOfWight #ultralowemissions

Taken a couple of hours ago. The lunar eclipse over Tennyson Down.
Not a typical view of the Needles as this beach is very tricky to get to.
I went to visit my parents as I didn't fancy the short but challenging walk to get to this point. An exceptionally low tide, low pressure resulting in the flatest of tides make this shot possible on very rare occasions. Steve (my husband) took the camera along for the ride!

The Moon and Venus in the late evening sky at Freshwater Bay yesterday
We came back over that New Forest what is terribly lovely at ground level. Yeah at ground level, it's bloomin' beautiful, yeah? But from fifteen hundred feet in the sky, it ain't so great, just one massive lump of green and brown. I mean, there is a few of your landmarks, your notable landmarks, like that Sway Tower and the old airfields at Beaulieu and that Stoney Cross, but photographically speaking, from that high up, it ain't up to much. So our last photo, right, our last photo, is from back over the South Island and that Needles lighthouse, with a hat tip to old Helmut Wick, who shouldn't have been up here in the first place. Should have stayed at home, Helmut Wick. Rest in peace, me old son. #IsleOfWight #TheNeedles #lighthouse #aerialphotography #photography
Leaving Hurst Spit we went over that South Island passing that Yarmouth on our left. #AerialPhotography #Photography #Yarmouth #IsleOfWight
Sunset at St Catherine's Lighthouse, taken a couple of evenings ago.
This is my favourite part of the Island and is the most southerly point.

The late afternoon sun was bathing everything in lovely golden light. #Gurnard #IsleofWight
This was taken about 10 am. We've had a lot of weather to get our heads around today
