Was einst Leben spendete, erzählt heute Geschichte - in Sandstein gemeißelt, im Plätschern bewahrt. Ein Ort der Stille, an dem Zeit nicht vergeht, sondern verweilt.
'Cowboy' im #Westend von #Dortmund gibt es eine Brunnenskulptur eines Jungen der Wasser speit. Leider habe ich sie noch nie in Betrieb gesehen. Hier haben ihm Anwohner einen Hut spendiert.

Since I took this image in 2010, the castle grounds have been renovated and the fountain no longer exists. All of the landscaping in front of the castle has been changed. This was taken at 10 pm and just after I took the shots, the fountain was turned off for the last time and all of the lights went out.

The representation of Australia created by Frederick Pomeroy on the 1887 Doulton Fountain on Glasgow Green. Designed for the 1888 International Exhibition, it's the largest terracotta fountain in the world.
I only recently noticed the bat-winged grotesque on this intricate panel of the 1887 Doulton Fountain on Glasgow Green. It's a rather weird and wonderful little extra detail which has no obvious link to the rest of the fountain's design.
By the early 2000s, the fountain was in very poor shape and pretty much the only parts of this group which survived were the legs. However, in 2004, the entire fountain was repaired and restored, including recreating the missing parts of the India statues.
The representation of India created by John Board on the 1887 Doulton Fountain on Glasgow Green. Designed for the 1888 International Exhibition, it's the largest terracotta fountain in the world. It features Queen Victoria at its summit, while at the bottom are representations of the four components of her empire: Australia, Canada, South Africa and India.
