Crows in the cottonwood tree this afternoon.

Mama Bear to the rescue -
Puzzled baby Corvus was wandering in the middle of the street.
A microscopic part of me dreams about having a pet crow, however they are prone to top-notch unholy behaviour so I'll gladly pass.
I'm sure they are happier outside anyway...

First I noticed a crow on a pile of wood, looked with the binoculars and could see it had a walnut. Then it lost it in the wood pile after unsuccessful nut cracking. Then I saw it was with another on the ground doing walnut things. Then I heard several walnuts crashing to the ground after bouncing off things. The rest of them were in the tree harvesting. I think these are the family that nested somewhere nearby this year.
More late-night work at the woodburner! Maybe a bit too late at night, though: Orion has an extra line. I wanted those to set it apart from Corvus, but instead...

In diesem Jahr gibt es in meiner Kiefer etwas Neues: an entgegengesetzten Enden der Krone haben einmal die Krähen schon vor Wochen ihr Nest gebaut. Jetzt haben sich die Ringeltauben in ca. 6 m Entfernung ebenfalls eingenistet. Vielleicht halten beide ja den Burgfrieden ein...
