IDEA: a mandated/supported break from work for PIs to read the literature, do some AlphaFold predictions, deep dive into biological databases, whatever, to… generate hypotheses and new ideas.

The flip side of the title is perhaps "Deliberate, thoughtful scientists are more impactful". Kinda like the idea of slow food.
