thanks and have a nice day everybody :)
#Introduction
Hey im back again on a new account since i couldn't remember the old password, and also am halfway there out of #facebook. Ive had #mastodon for some time now but for some reason i always stop coming in here...
Is there a way to make mastodon easier to use in a way to get more people on it, without sacrificing it's ethos and principles? Because i think th biggest problem stems from the simple fact that there are not enough ppl on it yet..
Anyway...
Some of my interests
#stayathomedad #fatherofone #bassguitar #punkrock #chess #vinylcollection #ecology #ruralpunx #miniaturepainting #warhammer #DIY #camping #boardgames #witchcraft #homesteading #gardening #agnostic #anarchy
Hope i can connect and find something that keeps me coming back here instead of there...
DBIN | A distro-agnostic package manager for Linux
Interesting times in uniting all Linux distributions even closer after the likes (not package managers) of Flatpaks and Snaps.
◉Dbin only accesses the configs and binaries which user requests
◉Every binary that dbin has in its repositories entirely self-contained
◉Dbin doesn't use a database - it can even be used without installing it
◉Dbin marks the programs that it installs/fetches using XATTR
◉Currently 3105 packages in the repositories (things like Steam and Lutris already in)
Users are encouraged to create a pull request, open an issue, starting a discussion or making suggestions!
On this particular day I am proud to state:
I am a #progressive.
I am a #liberal.
I am an #ecologist.
I am a secular #agnostic who values the separation of state and church.
I do support #socialwelfare and taxing the rich.
And yes: I fully and wholeheartedly support both #Ukraine and #Taiwan.
It's really hard to find atheist poetry or litmags that openly call for this. Searching for it specifically often returns the exact opposite for some reason (spiritual/religious litmags, poetry about conversion or critical of atheism). If you're aware of any journals that publish or call for atheist poetry, I'd love links I can bookmark.
@knittingknots2 So much to laugh about in this clip. I'd have pangs for his wife, but oh yeah, she chose this angry white man.
@riggbeck Got it. To be honest, I'm cool with the teachings of Jesus. How can you dispute, and I am paraphrasing, "Love one another and don't be a douche". That's a philosophy I can embrace.
Rerelease of S2.7 is now on YouTube!
"Although the battle lines have shifted down through the years from heliocentrism to evolution (and let’s not get started on the age of the Earth), it feels like there’s a fundamental conflict between science and religion, especially with respect to the Abrahamic religions like Christianity and Islam. I (Christina), the host of this podcast episode, as a scientist and atheist who tends to assume all scientists are atheists—because how could they not be?—am definitely guilty of thinking this.
Yet, there is a long tradition of curiosity, inquiry, and, yes, science within the Abrahamic religions and no shortage of devout scientists working hard to this day to understand the workings of the world and cosmos. I decided that it was time to confront my assumptions by talking to one of my religious colleagues. Thank you in advance to Dr Norm Nelson—an oceanographer whose Christianity is a core part of his life—for discussing whether or not there is a conflict between science and Christianity, and where the roots of that conflict might lie.
Don’t forget, dear listener, we need your support! So, recommend us to a friend and/or sign up for our Patreon or make a one-time donation via PayPal."
Any thoughts or ideas on publicising the Kowethas Kernow project?
It's essentially designed to be a dispersed Celtic Monastic-style community for people who enjoy traditional forms of church (music, art, architecture, food, liturgy etc) but who are also doubters, dissenters, heretics, agnostics, atheists, and Humanists.
To anyone describing themselves as #agnostic:
If you don't hold the belief that a god or gods exist, then you are an atheist by definition. We're *all* agnostic about the existence of a god, because currently such a thing cannot be known.
Agnostic refers to knowledge.
Atheist refers to belief.
Don't be afraid to use the word "atheist." The sooner its use is normalized, the sooner we might be able to discard harmful mythologies.
#DanielDennett - Can #Religion Be Explained Without #God?
My latest blog post is about how over two weeks in 2017 my Christian faith slipped away from me:

Happy #AtheismDay from an #Agnostic who believes in peace, humility and compassion.
It's been said by others that the truest good is done by the athiest. They do the right thing not for reward, nor fear, nor shame - they do the right thing simply because it is the right thing to do.
