Siblings
Our fox family seems to have dispersed, though one young one is still hanging around in the evenings. We think she took shelter under our house in the torrential rain we have had recently. This photo of the siblings was taken back when they were all playing around us. By popular demand, I will share this last photograph, unless I get more of the remaining youngster. We hope that the vixen will feel comfortable to come back and have her litter here next spring.

All the animal photos, including the foxes are featured full size on my "Animals" gallery which you can view here: stevenkennard.com/blog/skgalle

Not Much to Eat
A winter visit to Kejimkujik National Park in Nova Scotia always brings photographic rewards as the wildlife is much calmer and more focussed on finding food than worrying about me and my camera. This deer was curious, though, as we were quietly and patiently waiting for the right moment. She features on my ‘Animals’ gallery. …,

I was surprised to get a mid-afternoon visit today from our one of our neighborhood #foxes (they're usually more nocturnal). The #RedFox stopped where we often feed the birds. I had thrown out some old bread for the birds to eat, but my fox friend found it first.

Once he realized we were discretely watching him, he reluctantly walked off without finishing his meal.🙁

The wide variety of animal prints🐾 in the snow are presumably from the nearby skunks, racoons, squirrels, rabbits, and opossums-- only a few of the indentations are from my small dog (who is about the same size as the fox), since she rarely walks in that area.

[The glass on the patio door is a bit dirty, so there are some spots in the original image.]

Photo taken in #AuroraIllinois USA (far suburban Chicago), in the section of the state referred to as "the #FoxRiver."
