Just in time for Halloween: "The Evil Clergyman" by #HPLovecraft, first published in the April, 1939 issue of #WeirdTales. It's a story fragment more than anything, but did inspire a Charles Band short film!

Encountering Mister Carcosa

Mister Carcosa, much like the Slender Man, is an emergent folklore phantasm. Supposed encounters and rumours play a part in building up the narrative structure that supports and forms the creature. Initially, the sinister figure, had no name/identification. Depending on the accounts, his appearance varies from the typical Men in Black to Tall-man ~ Slender Man physique and garments. A few accounts, report Mister Carcosa struggling to hold on to his form, and hurrying off. Sightings of large owl like creatures (similar to The Mothman) flying near where Carcosa had appeared were reported.
