Re-booting!
Found these in the garage last winter and they were in good shape, two pairs basically new, just covered in garage grime.
I pressure washed them inside and out and now they're spending time filled with chlorinated water to disinfect.
Then dry and ready for use.

So if you want to do some #transcoding / #VirtualDesktop setup, this is a good card to #reuse.

I was thinking of buying a new-to-me #Thinkpad next month, but I think what I'll do instead is try to spruce up my #PinebookPro:
- Get new rubber feet
- Get a bigger SSD
- Install #pmOS and finally have #FDE on the thing
- Put some proper locktite on the screws so it's not falling apart all the time
I need to look up some videos on applying threadlocker to screws. It's much looser stuff than the typical locktite and it tends to make a mess.
I'm debating just dribbling locktite (regular CA) on top of the screws as well to try to make them a little more permanent. Not a great solution, but the thing just loves to fall apart.

Years ago when I had more time my friends and I used to organise lots of dorky little activities together. Boardgame days and a Yuri's night party and writing nights and little craft sessions.
Lately I've been longing to do more of it. Cycling around with my kiddo today I was daydreaming about Raccoon Rides: to ride around as a group and see how many cool things we can salvage from the verge collection before they get picked up and smushed into landfill.

@simonzerafa I mean obviously #reuse / #UseLonger is better and if your options are "corporate surplus" or nothing then I'd never judge.
To me it's just that #ThinkPad as a brand has really died as every single Device is a #downgrade in #repairability & #upgradeability compared to my #X230Tablet:
They have #SolderedDownRAM even on P-Series #Workstation machines, not just cheap cheap #Lenovo consoomer devices.
Batteries ain't toolfree-swappable anymore!
#WWAN modules are worse (i.e. #Fibocom #850GL aka. #Intel #XMM7360)
#Linux support gets worse and neither Lenovo nor @ubuntu feel responsible on a "#Ubuntu-certified Workstation" (i.e. #P15v)
Less & Worse #Docking options.
Most machines don't offer Linux or to eveb to opt-out of #Govware noone should pay their overcharged premium for (in fact #Microsoft pays Lenovo $25 for every #Windows #preinstall so they don't ship Linux, they don't even pay the $10 for an #OEM-#UEFI-Key, much less the $135+ of a #SystemBuilder version they charge for!)

Personally, I wish I had €.€€€.€€€ so I could just develop the #NUCbook and be done with the #Enshittification of #Laptops / #Notebooks!

Eben entdeckt. In einen im Herbst neu angelegten Teilbereich ziehen schon bodennistende Wildbienen ein.
Hinter einer zu zwei Drittel eingegrabenen Badewanne (#reuse) als #Sumpfwanne wurde mit Schotter, Steinen und einer dicken Schicht Natursand (ungewaschen) aufgefüllt. Nur wenige Pflanzen gesetzt. Der Boden darf gerne relativ frei bleiben. Irgendwas zwischen #Sandarium und #Trockenbeet wirds wohl sein.

Heute wollen wir Euch unser #Maskottchen, den Bären "Herr Kuhnke" vorstellen.
Im Sommer 2023 haben wir Herrn Kuhnke von einem #Abfallhof gerettet, er sollte einfach entsorgt werden.
Das konnten wir natürlich nicht zulassen und haben ihn sofort eingestellt.
Herr Kuhnke ist noch ein klassischer #Teddy mit Gelenken an den Armen und Beinen. Er ist sicherlich schon sehr alt.
Nun darf er regelmäßig unsere Produkte vorstellen und ist sehr stolz auf seine harte Arbeit.
Diesmal zeigt er Euch einen Umbau eines #Telefon Mikrofons zum Mikro für #Konferenzen, #djs oder zum fröhlichen #Gesang .
