What is interesting is that a mild degree of #FaceBlindness, or #prosopagnosia, does not prevent pareidolia - I have both.

@randahl I have #prosopagnosia and have that problem in real life - can't remember faces, so I also forget a lot of the interactions with the people I can't remember.
Learning people's faces from repeatedly seeing them in their online presences also helps me when I encounter them in real life.
Y'ALL! just reckoned Bryce Harper and Brandon Marsh are two different people 
kept getting confused as to why Bryce was twice at-bat in a game.
Brandon Marsh looks like Bryce Harper cosplaying Hermit Thor. if the Ozzie Chris ever makes it to a #Phillies game, i might never make them out from a lineup

One of my favorite things about having face blindness is that I frequently encounter a person who I believe is one of my siblings
And then I stare. Not because I actually think, “that IS my sibling,” but bc I’m trying to figure out what about their face DOESNT look exactly like one of the people I know, bc this person cannot logically be either my brother or my sister
It’s very cognitively disorienting & it is actually, in fact, not one of my favorite things

our middle school had a career day today!
one of the volunteers in the room across the hall recognized me and was bragging to her co-presenter that she knows a famous poet
we had a little exchange and it was cool and funny but awkward
later in the day, we saw each other again and she mentioned to a couple kids nearby how it was so crazy that she saw me today bc she'd forgotten I was a teacher as well
on my fucken life, I have no idea who that person was.

@Zumbador @actuallyautistic @neurodivergents #Prosopagnosia was diagnosed for me by a curious doctor. Accepting it has helped me become a better detective and I have days where I think I’d have stronger relationships if this was not a barrier to forming them. For some types of relationships I disclose it, “I have a hard time recognizing faces, so come say hi—I’m not an asshole, if I look like I don’t know you it’s because I don’t know that I do.”

i didn't reformat the laptop with the sever install because i still have a lot of GUI software stuff there that i have not moved or archived.
so i just SSH into it. but that means i don't have a visual for all the localhost and network stuff that should be on.
it makes me realize, the way i have set up all my GUIs it's been to overcompensate for my #dyslexia, #dysgraphia, #prosopagnosia and #ADHD

Now I've explored #Autism #Prosopagnosia #Alexithymia and #Aphantasia and have an idea what was going on, but then I thought everyone saw the world like I did, just coped better. I coped by becoming a #PluralSystem by age three when I realized my girl self would have to be hidden. After six "guy" IDs, I'm now back being that girl. Still running the system, but with more E and less T...
Age nine I was forced to wear #Bifocal #PlusLensTheory glasses every waking moment. Despite all that, I've been online since #ARPAnet and #DJNR, wrote the first magazine article with simultaneous code distribution (via 8" floppies in the post), coded fab robots to move 6" & 8" Silicon wafers, built my (almost) independent #SolarPV and #SolarThermal house (7K lines of C++ from 1998, 42 device outs), and evolved an audio system with bandwidth from DC to a half MHz. Helped raise four unique kids, as adult minds in young bodies. Still mystify most of the adults I encounter...
