The horizontal stabilizer gets micro added along the leading edge.
I may need a second application tomorrow.
According to my airfoil templates, the leading edge is a little bit blunt, so I need to build it up a little bit and then sand it to the proper shape.
Of course, this delays my priming and painting dates by a few days or more.
If an airfoil is blunter than the design calls for, it has a bit higher drag. (However, the stall characteristics tend to be gentler, more forgiving.)
Ironically, most composite glider designs have the airfoils made from two mold halves...and the mold seam runs right along the leading edge...the most critical part of the airfoil.
So, you should expect to always add micro to the leading edge along that @#$%! seam, and sand/shape it. Sigh.
It's the nature of the beast.
