Ich habe bisher immer #metatext als #app verwendet. Da sie vor ein paar Tagen gehakt hat, wollte ich sie De- und wieder neu installieren. Leider bekomme ich jetzt die Meldung, dass sie „in meiner Region“ nicht
mehr verfügbar ist (hätte es in D, AT und IT probiert). Weiß da jemand mehr dazu und habt ihr Vorschläge für Alternativen?

@Thoraka ich benutze es bereit seit vielen Monaten (ja, mit TestFlight). Es ist ein Fork von #Metatext, das ich vorher genutzt habe; beim Zeitpunkt meines Umstiegs konnte Metatext noch nicht mit den langen Texten von #Friendica umgehen. Ob das heute geht, weiß ich nicht. Aber mit dieser (damaligen?) Ausnahme ist auch Metatext aus meiner Sicht empfehlenswert.

Does anyone know what happened to FediText? Mine just stopped working … and so did its older sibling Metatext.
I’ve been trying other apps and hoping FediText would start working again… but no luck so far.

So for the most part, my foray into #Friendica seems to be going well. There are two questions I have though.
First, is it not possible for people who aren't on Friendica, or even #Mastodon, to follow a Friendica profile even if they're not on the Fediverse?
Second, are there any #iOS fedi apps that actually work with Friendica? I tried to set #Metatext up with it, but I keep getting "The operation couldn't be completed." Is that a problem with Metatext or the server I'm on?

Feditext beta users: yesterday's version 1.7.2 build 129 includes fixes to our Spanish translation (contributed by <https://wetdry.world/@nelson>) and our Polish translation (contributed by <https://github.com/matpl11>).
Feditext beta users: today's version 1.7.2 build 126 now supports editing posts on GotoSocial 0.18 (already supported for most other Fedi servers).
since GtS 0.18 is still in development, this release is recommended for advanced GtS users only: you need to explicitly set a version like 0.18.0-dev while building GtS for Feditext to detect and enable 0.18 features.
users of current GtS or other servers don't need to update to today's Feditext release.

I’ve been using #Metatext as an app for #Mastodon since 2022. But lately I’ve been having lotsa of trouble with it.
I notice it’s been slow to load the last two weeks when I open it and then I move on to other things. I think it’s time to explore other options?
Anyone have a better rec for a Mastodon client? Which app do you use?
After getting the #Mastodon account migrated, I went through all my UIs and switched over finally, including 3 webapps & 4 native #iOS apps. That was mostly smooth. The only failure is #Elk (https://elk.zone), which I think only exposes settings through the user profile page, which I can't reach because it's logged in with a disabled account. But these were all fine:

- #Mammoth
- #Metatext
- #Trunks
- Mastodon for iOS
Except for that last one, the official native mobile app, and Elk, all support multiple accounts. You can switch between instances in the settings. So I just added the new instance and then logged out of the old one. In the case of Mastodon for iOS, you just log out and then in with a new account. Lots of quality time with Google Auth too. Lol
