Der Volkswirt<p><a href="https://norden.social/tags/Apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Apple</span></a> Updates - macOS 15.4 und iOS 18.4 bringen Apple Intelligence auf den neusten iPhones und Geräten mit M-Chips.<br>Die ersten Versuche verliefen eher enttäuschend. Siri ist noch immer nahezu unbrauchbar und wird nur Dank ChatGPT etwas aufgepeppt. Apple Mail liefert auch nichts, was andere Mail Clients nicht schon seit langem bieten.<br>Die Zeiten, da Apple Software maßgebend war, sind nur allzu offensichtlich vorüber. Vielleicht wird es doch langsam Zeit für eine Neuorientierung?</p>

Why? <br>1) Installing <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> Mint on my old 2011 MacBook Air showed me, that Apple made it obsolete not because the hardware wasn't powerful enough but only to sell new hardware. <br>2) Apple charging +750 Euros for larger SSD and more RAM in new MacBook Airs is just greedy<br>3) I love MacOS but I want to stay in control - and Macs cannot be stopped "phoning home" (OCSP)</p>
